ever looked at someone and thought "what the ACTUAL fuck?!". that is how i felt about Alex Winston when i saw her open for Bruno Mars at the hammersmith apollo the other day. if you haven't heard of her, don't worry, neither had 98% of the audience who just stared at her whilst she tried her hardest to get us to clap to her songs (yeah, that didn't happen). but what got me the most was what she was doing on stage, in all my life i have never seen someone act as if they are being de-possessed. seriously! she was just screaming into the mic, couldn't understand what she was saying but it all got too much when she threw herself to the ground and started banging on the stage floor (que more 'WTF?!?!?'s).
being so fascinated/scared of her i did what any internet addict did and youtubed her, after bluffing through more videos of her screaming/banging on stage floor i came across a version of her singing 'choice notes' and i was mesmerized. her voice was fantastic! i have no idea what she thinks shes doing up on that stage but when she just sings, she could easily be one of my new favourite singers, but then i watched her video for 'sister wife' and re-thought that.
